About the International Academy for Professional Development Ltd and affiliated Centres

The International Academy for Professional Development Ltd and affiliated Centres are leading training providers of stress management, health and wellbeing, cognitive behaviour therapy, coaching, psychological coaching and coaching psychology programmes. 

​The Centre for Stress Management has trained many 1000s of students in stress management and cognitive behaviour therapy since 1987. The Centre for Coaching has provided training for coaches, managers, trainers, psychologists, health and HR professionals from Europe to New Zealand. The Centres are affiliated the the International Academy for Professional Development Ltd (IAPD).

OUR APPROACH

​The Centres have pioneered the development of evidence based therapy and coaching since their inception. The main approaches underpinned by research are Cognitive Behavioural, Rational Emotive Behaviour and Solution Focused. We also offer rational and multimodal coaching. Our programmes are modular and involve blended learning. Our Course Directors and trainers have published books and articles on coaching, coaching psychology, CBT, REBT and other relevant topics.

WE PROVIDE A RANGE OF APPROVED AND PROFESSIONAL BODY RECOGNISED TRAINING PROGRAMMES

 

 

 

Our International Academy for Professional Development courses are run over the Zoom Platform in real time or in-house include Certificates and Diplomas in Coaching, Psychological Coaching, Coaching Psychology, and Stress Management & Performance Coaching. The Diplomas in Psychological Coaching and Coaching Psychology are at an advanced level. All the courses are modular allowing learners to attend in 2 or 5-day blocks.

The Centres and Academy run Institute of Leadership (IoL) Approved Programmes.

The Advanced Diploma in Coach Training is accredited by the Association for Coaching, a leading professional independent professional body. The Centre for Coaching is a founding member of the Association. Our Director, Professor Stephen Palmer was the first President of the Association and is an Honorary Fellow. In 2016 he was appointed Adjunct Professor of Coaching Psychology in the Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University, Denmark. In 2018 he was appointed Professor of Practice at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

 

The programmes are also recognised for CPD purposes by the International Society for Coaching Psychology and the International Academy and Centre for Coaching are Approved Centres. The British Psychological Society approves many of our our  Centre for Coaching and Centre for Stress Management 2-day Primary and extended Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma programmes for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).​
